In 2016, six percent of hospital Medicare reimbursement is tied to patient outcomes (infection, readmissions, mortality). If you are in a group practice with ten or more physicians, 6% of Medicare reimbursement is also tied to value (quality + cost) of caring for patients in the office setting. Physicians play a critical role not only in championing initiatives but also in reviewing their own performance data to identify opportunities to improve patient care. There are countless challenges to sharing physician performance data. What are the expectations of sharing data? Is it timely? Does it show performance over time compared to benchmarks? Does it provide enough information to take action? Is it meaningful? If you answered no to any of these questions, you have missed the mark. As healthcare quality professionals it is imperative that we measure evidence-based practices that are driving patient outcomes and provide feedback on performance. This learning lab is designed to offer a fresh look at what to share and how to share data that will impact the financial success of your organization. This learning lab is a ‘must-see’ for healthcare professionals responsible for improving patient outcomes. A copy of presentation is included.
