To survive in an industry challenged by increased transparency and a new set of rules levied by value driven strategy and reform, healthcare systems must consistently deliver higher quality, cost effective and efficient outcomes. Providers have to be good at doing more with less. This presentation will provide a success story, sharing what worked in defining structure, process and outcomes, to reduce hospital acquired VTE’s through a multidisciplinary system approach.
- Review the system level structural and tactical approach used for delivering information and deploying clinical change.
- Enhance comprehension on how to engage physicians around the system for their buy in and address any concerns before a clinical algorithm was approved.
- Clarify how to set objectives and deliverables, define the project scope, identify resources, surface risks and barriers, develop a budget and establish a timeline for successful completion of a large scale project.
- Appreciate the value of using scientific evidence information, subject expert knowledge, process information, innovation ideas, and consensus tools.
