Sepsis has been the most challenging core measure that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid has ever required. It is often difficult to identify early, and requires vigilance and concurrent communication with the Quality team to track and document compliance with the core measures. Still in its first year, sepsis continues to be a challenging measure with low compliance success rates.

In addition to a varied clinical background, she has extensive experience in project design, implementation, and management. Cathy serves as Director of the Quality Service Line for Nuance’s Quality Management Suite, she is responsible for product strategy for the Clintegrity Quality Measures, Performance Analytics and Clinical Analytics. This includes monitoring the regulatory horizon to ensure that current and future Clintegrity Quality solutions are compliant with new and revised regulations. Regulations include but not limited to The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, value-based purchasing, and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
