Speaker: Rich Greenhill, DHA FACHE
Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to shape aspects of care delivery in new and exciting ways. With Quality Professionals at the forefront of change and integration efforts, we must be comfortable with a basic understanding of the technology, its opportunities, and risks.
This session will give attendees a basic understanding of AI and how it works; current uses in care delivery, and raise important considerations for quality leaders to ensure patient safety is at the forefront of current or proposed use.
Learning Objectives:
1. To review the data on the role handoffs play in patient safety failures
2. To discuss the evidence base behind I-PASS, a program shown to improve handoffs in multiple settings, across disciplines and specialties
3. To discuss how to implement I-PASS at a system level, striking a balance between creating a shared structure and language, while concurrently addressing the pragmatic needs for specialty and care-area specific customization of the program.
