In this webinar, "Inseparable Link between Quality and Operations: Leveraging High-Reliability and Change Management", Megan will share Kaiser Permanente's re-imagined approach to operational efficiency and care coordination leveraging the principles of high-reliability, improvement science, and integrating a change management strategy into our Patient-Centered Clinical Transformation journey resulting in a 30% reduction in total harm (78 patients protected, 729 days avoided and $1.5 million dollars in savings), as well as a 40% improvement in Emergency Department to admitted bed placement, 0.25 reduction in Length of Stay and top KP Large Hospital HCAHPS performer. The successful implementation of Patient-Centered Clinical Transformation is a result of targeted strategies aimed at achieving high-reliability demonstrated through the launch of the Patient Progression Hub. An operations center whose design/development was guided by the following goals: placing patient at the center of process, harmonizing care coordination hand-offs, elevate professional practice to top of license, assess leadership capabilities through reinforced education and training, and fostering innovation at the point of care.
